Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is nature's own moisture master, known for its instantly cooling and soothing properties. In a sunscreen it is indispensable, as it restores the skin's moisture balance and acts like a gentle, caring hand on skin exposed to the sun's rays.

Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract (Cucumber Extract)
Cucumber extract is the ultimate source of freshness. It provides a naturally cooling and refreshing effect on the skin, leaving it calm, well-hydrated, and with a pleasant feeling of lightness.

Plantago Lanceolata Leaf Extract (Ribwort Plantain)
Ribwort plantain is known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It is the perfect partner for a sunscreen because it helps soothe the stress and heat the skin experiences under direct sunlight.

How to

Apply a generous amount of sunscreen. An adult should use about 40 ml for the whole body, a child about 20 ml — or as a rule of thumb: one handful per person. It is important to use the recommended amount to achieve the stated sun protection factor.

Apply the sunscreen in good time, preferably 20–30 minutes before you go out into the sun, and ideally in two applications.

When swimming, reapply frequently. The same applies if you stay in the sun for extended periods.

Be aware that sunscreen can stain clothing, textiles and other surfaces. Therefore allow the sunscreen to be fully absorbed into the skin before contact with these.

Does Cana Cares sunscreen contain perfume?

No, Cana Cares sunscreens contain no fragrance.

Does your sunscreen contain the UV filter DHHB?

Yes, our sunscreens contain the UV filter DHHB, but comply with all requirements (and even exceed them). We know that this particular impurity in DHHB has received a lot of attention in cosmetics, and new legal limits are being introduced for maximum content in raw materials for cosmetic use. A limit will be added to the Cosmetics Regulation setting a maximum of 10 ppm DnHexP in DHHB raw materials — this limit comes from the SCCS, the European Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety, which includes, among others, many toxicologists with deep expertise in safety assessment. Our DHHB raw material contains a maximum of 1 ppm (i.e., 1 out of 1,000,000) DnHexP, so we therefore have a "safety" factor of 10 above the level the committee considers safe. Because we meet the limit (and more) and comply with the upcoming requirements, it is completely safe to use our products containing DHHB.

In addition, all our sunscreens are 100% fragrance-free, contain 0% endocrine-disrupting substances, and have kolbe-A at Kemiluppen, so they are entirely safe to use.

What does it mean that the sunscreen is water-resistant?

When a sunscreen is water-resistant, it means it has been tested to retain at least 50% of its protection after two 20-minute periods in the water.

However, it is important to understand that no sunscreen is waterproof. Always remember to reapply sunscreen after swimming, sweating, or toweling off to ensure you remain optimally protected.

Will sunscreen stain my clothes?

Yes - and no. We recommend that you always apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before going out in the sun - and, conveniently, preferably early enough for the sunscreen to be fully absorbed into your skin before you put clothes on.

If the sunscreen has fully absorbed into your skin before you get dressed, you minimize the risk of it staining clothing. However, this can still happen, for example if you sweat, so always be careful, especially with light fabrics, and make sure to wash the sunscreen off your skin before you go to bed so you don't risk it transferring to your bedding.

About the Product

The most important reason to use sun protection is to care for your health and your skin in both the short and long term. The sun’s UV rays can damage the cells’ DNA, which in the worst case can lead to skin cancer (including melanoma). By using sunscreen every day, you protect your skin from the harmful rays.

At the same time, sun protection is the most effective means of preventing premature skin aging. UVA rays break down the skin’s elasticity and collagen, leading to deep wrinkles and pigmentation problems that could otherwise have been avoided.

Keep an eye on your skin - if it becomes red, you have either used too low an SPF or applied too little sunscreen.

Research shows

You are best protected by your sunscreen if you apply it twice before you go out in the sun. Because we often have "helligdage" when we apply sunscreen, it has been found that the risk of having areas that are not protected is reduced by 17% when you apply sunscreen twice in succession. In this way it also becomes easier to use sufficient amounts to achieve the desired sun protection factor.
