Since magnesium is a salt mineral, some people may experience a slight stinging sensation if too much is applied. Heat may be used by breastfeeding mothers; it can actually be very helpful, for example, for a tense neck after awkward nursing positions. Just be careful that Heat does not come into contact with your baby's eyes, as it may sting your baby.

We do not recommend Heat for young children, as it can become very hot, and we want everyone to have a good experience with the product.

If Heat feels too warm, you can always neutralize the warmth by applying an oil to your skin afterwards.

If you don't feel immediate warmth the first time you apply Heat, we have a few tips you can try: Always make sure to shake the product well before use so the ingredients activate. Apply Heat after a warm bath, or use a warm cloth on the area first. Roll on a generous layer of Heat, wait 20 minutes, and roll again — possibly a third time if the effect still feels too mild. Move around a little or put on a sweater — the warmth will often reactivate as your body warms up.

It varies from person to person how long Heat provides warmth. For some, it will be warm for 30 minutes; for others, for several hours. If you put Heat on in the morning, the warmth usually subsides during the day, but if you then cycle home from work or otherwise raise your pulse, the warmth will often reactivate itself, and you will feel a warming sensation again.

You can use Heat on, for example, the jaw area or along the hairline (many people like this for tension headaches), but otherwise we do not recommend using Heat on the face, as it should not come into contact with the eyes.
