Saccharide Isomerate
A natural sugar complex that binds moisture in the skin for up to 24 hours.

Plantago Lanceolata Leaf Extract (Ribwort plantain)
Ribwort plantain is known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It is the perfect partner for a sunscreen because it helps calm the stress and heat the skin experiences in direct sunlight.

Oryza Sativa Bran Wax (Upcycled Rice Wax)
Ensures the sunscreen doesn't feel sticky or leave a white cast. Provides a velvety-soft finish and helps the cream absorb instantly into the skin.
This covers the product's sensory experience – that is, how it feels on the skin.

Usage

Apply a generous amount of sunscreen. An adult should use about 40 ml for the whole body, a child about 20 ml — or as a rule of thumb: One handful for one body. It is important to use the recommended amount to achieve the stated sun protection factor.

Apply the sunscreen in good time, preferably 20–30 minutes before going out in the sun, and preferably in two applications.

When bathing or swimming, reapply frequently. The same applies if you stay in the sun for extended periods.

Be aware that sunscreen can stain clothing, textiles, and other surfaces. Therefore, allow the sunscreen to fully absorb into the skin before contact with these.

Frequently asked questions

Does Cana Cares sunscreen contain perfume?

No, Cana Cares sunscreens contain no fragrance.

What is the difference between SPF30 and SPF50?

Many people think that SPF 50 is twice as effective as SPF 30, but that's a misconception.

  • SPF 30 blocks approximately 97% of the sun's harmful rays
  • SPF 50 blocks approximately 98% of the sun's harmful rays

The biggest difference is in how well the protection works for people with very fair skin, or if you are exposed to extreme sun exposure.

But remember that you only get the SPF listed on the sunscreen when you apply the correct amount. If you use less, the sunscreen may protect far less than the stated SPF.

What does it mean that the sunscreen is water-resistant?

When a sunscreen is water-resistant, it means it has been tested to retain at least 50% of its protection after two 20-minute immersions in water.

However, it is important to understand that no sunscreen is waterproof. Always remember to reapply sunscreen after swimming, sweating, or drying off with a towel to ensure you remain optimally protected.

Will my clothes get stained by the sunscreen?

Yes — and no. We recommend that you always apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before you go out in the sun — and, conveniently, preferably in time for the sunscreen to fully absorb into your skin before you put on clothes.

By ensuring the sunscreen has fully absorbed into your skin before you put on clothes, you minimize the risk of stains on your clothing. However, it can still happen if, for example, you sweat, so always be careful, especially with light-colored fabrics, and make sure to wash the sunscreen off your skin before you go to bed so you don’t risk it transferring to your bedding.

Can I use the sunscreen on my face?

Yes, you can definitely use Cana Care Sun Lotion SPF 30 on your face. We developed our sunscreen with such care that it feels more like a facial cream than traditional sun protection. The formula is packed with nature’s own moisturizers like soothing aloe vera and cooling cucumber extract, which together with nourishing vitamin E give your skin the ultimate care in the sun.

The sunscreen absorbs instantly and leaves your face with a silky, matte finish that is neither sticky nor shiny. We only use the latest and gentlest sunscreen filters, which are extremely comfortable for the delicate skin on the face. Since it is also effectively water-resistant, you can confidently stay active and enjoy the water without compromising your protection. In short, it’s the perfect all-in-one solution for your daily routine, both for the face and the body.

Why should you use sun protection?

The main reason to use sun protection is to take care of your health and your skin in both the short and long term. The sun's UV rays can damage cells' DNA, which in the worst case can lead to skin cancer (including melanoma). By using sunscreen every day, you protect your skin from the harmful rays.

At the same time, sun protection is the most effective way to prevent premature skin aging. UVA rays break down the skin's elasticity and collagen, which creates deep wrinkles and pigmentation issues that could otherwise have been avoided.

Keep an eye on your skin - if it becomes red, you have either used too low an SPF or applied too little sunscreen.

Protect yourself from the sun

Remember the three sun tips

Protect yourself from the sun when the UV index is 3 or higher with these three sun tips:

  • Shade
  • Sun hat
  • Sunscreen

Apply sunscreen to any skin not covered by clothing. The Danish Health Authority recommends a minimum SPF of 30, both in Denmark and abroad. If you have sensitive or fair skin, you should generally choose a higher SPF.

Studies show

You are best protected by your sunscreen if you apply it twice before going out in the sun. Because we often have "holidays" when applying sunscreen, it has been found that the risk of having areas that are not protected is reduced by 17% when you apply sunscreen twice in succession. In this way it also becomes easier to use sufficient amounts to achieve the desired sun protection factor.
