From midwife to entrepreneur
Cana Buttenschøn trained as a midwife in 2009 and has since written numerous bestsellers about pregnancy, childbirth and life as a mother. Over the past 10 years she has used her voice on social media as well as in Danish society to raise women's general self-worth, self-esteem and health. In 2021 she launched the first products in Cana Care — and since then things have taken off!
Cana Buttenschøn
Cana Buttenschøn was born in Sønderjylland in 1986. She is the mother of two boys and a girl and is married to Simon Thrane.
The family lives in an apartment on Østerbro but enjoys spending weekends at their summer house in the countryside, where their little dog Martha always comes along, of course.
It hasn't always been destined for Cana to become the successful entrepreneur she is today, and it's no secret that the journey here has also been hard. You can read more about it in the blog posts below.

Collaboration with Danish pharmacies
Cana Buttenschøn has worked with Danish pharmacies since 2018, where she has served as an advisor on the development of dietary supplements, trained staff, and most recently — as the first Dane ever — developed and launched a product line in collaboration with apotekernes amba, sold exclusively at all Danish pharmacies.
Education and Professional Experience
As the youngest ever, Cana Buttenschøn graduated as a midwife in 2009 from University College Syd in Esbjerg.
It takes three and a half years to become a midwife. Half of the program is theoretical, while the other half is clinical, primarily on various maternity wards across Denmark.
After completing her studies, Cana worked for several years at Denmark's largest birthing facility, Hvidovre Hospital - including as part of Copenhagen's dedicated home-birth team.
